Strategy-driven product design — currently exploring how AI changes the way we build. Based in Montevideo, Uruguay.

I'm Nico — a Strategic Product Designer based in Montevideo, Uruguay, currently untangling checkout flows and onboarding screens for e-commerce and SaaS products at Sparq. I got here sideways: I started out designing books and magazines, then moved into branding, then somehow ended up spending most of my days in Figma instead of InDesign. That path still shows up in how I work — I care about hierarchy, rhythm, and the small decisions nobody notices until they're wrong.

These days I'm doing a Master's in Strategic Design and Innovation, which has made me a lot more annoying to work with, in the best way: before I draw anything, I want to know what's actually broken and who it's broken for. A good-looking screen solving the wrong problem doesn't do it for me anymore.

I'm also spending a lot of time figuring out how AI actually changes the way products get designed and built — not as a buzzword, but as something I use daily, from research to prototyping to shipping.

If you're building something and want a strategic eye on it — or just want to talk shop — I'm easy to find.

Let's work together

I'm always interested in new challenges, interesting projects, and great people to collaborate with. Whether it's a full-time role, freelance project, or just a coffee chat — let's connect.
